The first annual Columbia River Author Festival was a great success in terms of author turnout. Over 50 published authors from northern Oregon and southern Washington showed up and the Longview Library was full to capacity.
Meeting up with so many others of like mind is a great way to be inspired. Writing can be a lonely life, and hearing so many success stories is a wonderful antidote. Almost all of us took a turn reading our work on one of three stages, and I only wish I could have heard more readers.
The Longview Library staff were helpful, organized and enthusiastic. Everything went smoothly and on-time. I'm looking forward to next year.
Oh yeah - and I sold two books!
I also got to meet many enthusiastic readers and handed out a dozen or more cards advertising Where You Will Die.
Small steps, but good ones
